Supporting Culture in Rushmoor...

In 2012 a consortium of arts and community organisations came together to develop a bid for the Arts Council’s Creative People and Places fund. Rushmoor was seen as an area of low engagement in the arts and the bid addressed this by developing audiences and the cultural offer in the borough. Unfortunately the bid was unsuccessful but the Arts Council were keen to support Rushmoor’s cultural development an funded a research project that led to a Grants for the Arts bid. This bid was a success and has allowed a small group of arts and community organisations active in the area to develop the Rushmoor Arts Hub (RAH).

RAH aims to bring people together in Rushmoor, to develop the cultural offer and to reach a greater audience through partnerships with arts, community and education. This programme involves a steering group that has identified development areas, explored what works well in other cities and regions, and established some key priorities for the development of the arts in Rushmoor. These are: the promotion of the offer, through web and social media; supporting emerging talent through a Youth Arts Fund; and supporting the local organisations, artists and practitioners through networking and training.

Find out more about the partners involved, take a look at some of the research results and please become a member of the Hub. Together we can make Rushmoor a more connected and vibrant cultural community!
