RUSHMOOR CHOIR RAISES £1,500 FOR YOUNG PERSONS’ HOSPICES

February 12, 2018 – Rushmoor Male Voice Choir presents a cheque to the Waverley Friends of Naomi House and Jacksplace hospices for children and young adults representing the proceeds of their Christmas concert at the Farnham Maltings. The concert also included performances from the Kindred Spirits choir, a group of people who have all undergone, or are undergoing, treatment for breast cancer.

Peter Viveash, Chairman of The Rushmoor ‘Odd Fellows’ Male Voice Choir, presented Carol May, from The Waverley Friends of Naomi House and Jacksplace, with a cheque for £1,500 raised at a concert held on 7th December 2017 at the Farnham Maltings. That's enough to fund a day’s nursing care for 9 children or young people.

The choir, under the baton of Musical Director Stephen Petch and accompanied by Margery Wakefield, entertained the audience with songs ranging from classic choral pieces through popular hits and Christmas tunes plus a couple of congregational carols for everyone to join in. The Kindred Spirits choir added their voices to the men in two joint numbers, as well as performing on their own.
